Thinking back to how I used to use online blogs… I mostly wanted to post about my travels and explorations. At the time, Bay Area / California / West Coast USA was very new to me and just the everyday act of stepping out the door felt like a big adventure. I would intentionally pick places to go to with the purpose of experiencing something new and was even going on solo trips internationally for the first time. Artisan chocolates from a specialized shop, a district entirely centered around a Japanese community, food truck popups and county fairs with real auctioned livestock… all of it was new and exciting.
As an older adult, it’s hard to recapture that sense of wonder at the world and marvel at the blessings surrounding us. There’s a lot of fear and awareness of danger that, while legit and probably built out of life experiences, also get in the way of truly enjoying life. Maybe that’s what all this rekindling of my old blogging habits is about?
I have no answers to how to make the world a safer place, but perhaps we can look at the world with open eyes again to find the joys we used to so easily find in life?
P.S. Trying out some drawing tools in Clip Studio. Not sure I like this much. I need bold opaque colors to achieve what I want. This is not it.
